What Changed This Quarter?
These observations describe the reported crash counts in the TxDOT dataset and do not attempt to explain why the changes occurred.
Reported crashes increased by 12 from Q1 to Q2 2026, a 38.7% quarter-to-quarter increase.
Princeton recorded 12 more reported crashes in Q2, while serious injury crashes increased from 2 to 5.
The Collin County portion of Wylie recorded 35 fewer crashes in Q2 than Q1, an 18.1% decline.
Reported crashes increased by 40% from Q1 to Q2, moving from 30 to 42 crashes.
Melissa recorded 32 fewer crashes in Q2 than Q1, a 27.6% decline.
McKinney recorded 78 more crashes in Q2 than Q1, while the number of serious injury crashes remained at 13.

About the Data
The source files used for this tracker were exported from the Texas Department of Transportation Crash Records Information System. They contain reportable crash data from Texas Peace Officer Crash Reports processed by TxDOT.
The Q3 2025 revised export covers July 1 through September 30, 2025. Q4 2025 covers October through December, Q1 2026 covers January through March, and Q2 2026 covers April through June.
Current-year and recently processed crash records may be revised later. The figures on this page should therefore be treated as a snapshot of the data available when the report was generated.
These statistics describe reported crashes. They do not establish the cause of a crash, determine fault, or predict an individual driver’s likelihood of being involved in an accident.
